Jungle and sea adventures, water sports, dining and shopping, are just some of the Koh Samui activities awaiting you on your Travelalot holiday.

Which Koh Samui activities to choose

Adjacent to the magnificent Angthong Marine Park,  Samui Island is heaven for divers and other lovers of the ocean. It’s also accessible to gorgeous Koh Tao, and other less visited spots by day trip.

Blue Stars offers kayaking and snorkelling tours, exploring the tiny islands of Ang Thong Marine Park, with their hidden saltwater lakes, and caves in the limestone cliffs.

100 Degrees East also runs small group diving and snorkelling tours (maximum 12 people) to Ang Thong Marine Park. Or let them take you to world-renowned dive spots, Koh Tao (Turtle Island) and Sail Rock.

Thailand beach TravelalotExplore Na Muang waterfalls in the island’s interior. Stop by the charming, hilltop Secret Buddha Garden – built over the years by a local farmer.

You could also check out the island’s many beaches on a driving tour. The Grandma and Grandpa rocks on Lamai beach are rock formations that look like…genitalia!

Koh Samui has some fascinating temples, like Wat Plai Laem, with its colourful statues of Buddha and the goddess, Kuan Yin. The complex features ornate pagodas on islands in a lake packed with fish. And then there’s the Big Buddha at Big Buddha Beach. Hop on a tour to see these sights, or hire a scooter, or a taxi with a driver for a day. Remember visitors to temples in Thailand must be modestly dressed.

Thailand Temple TravelalotShopping, dining and more

A visit to the Thursday night market at Mae Nam walking street passes a small Chinese Temple that is also worth a look. Other shopping attractions include a selection of Koh Samui tailors or shop for glamorous bikinis and resort wear at Amazonas. For something different, check out the Fishermen Pants shop at Lamai Beach.

Don’t forget the glorious food! Thailand’s scrumptious spiced cuisine is just one of the things that keep us returning. It’s a great idea to squeeze in a cooking class at one of Koh Samui’s cooking schools to learn how to recreate favourite dishes. The Island Organics Thai cooking school grows its own organic produce on site. Book a class through their website.

One of our favourite Koh Samui activities is the 3 course Thai Experience Dinner Party where you can learn about Thai food and culture and make friends with travellers from all over the world.

The Boudoir French restaurant is also one of the highest rated and romantic dining experiences on the island.

Samui is simply overflowing with wellness activities, like the luxury Tamarind Springs day spa, in a natural forest setting.

If that’s not enough to enjoy, there’s ziplining, kite surfing, paintballing, fishing and golf. Or throw away your clubs, and kick a hole in one at Samui Football Golf.
